Head of Networking / Bank Partnerships
Reporting Line: Works directly with the CEO
Seniority Level: Senior Leadership / Head of Function
Location: London
Experience Required: 6+ years in partnerships, network, or banking roles in payments or fintech, with direct experience originating and negotiating agreements with banks, PSPs, or payout partners
Summary:
The company is building the global payment network for money moving into, across, and out of the world’s emerging markets, with stablecoin rails under the hood. This role owns the company’s product itself: the banks, payout partners, liquidity providers, and licence partners that move money across emerging markets from Africa to the Gulf to Asia. The Head of Network will originate and negotiate partnerships that open new corridors, activate them to first live transaction, and own the performance, economics, and resilience of everything already live — acting as the company’s face to banks, PSPs, and licensed partners worldwide.
Responsibilities:
-
Own the global partner network end to end: banking relationships, payout partners, liquidity providers, and licence partnerships across every market, from origination through negotiation to live
-
Launch corridors: scope the market, identify and diligence partners, negotiate commercial terms, and drive integration and activation to first live transaction
-
Run the live stack: track partner performance against SLAs, manage pricing and capacity, handle escalations, and renegotiate terms as volumes and leverage grow
-
Engineer resilience: build redundancy into every rail, eliminate single points of failure, and maintain failover plans ahead of need
-
Own partner unit economics: work with treasury and finance to understand the true cost of every corridor and use that to drive pricing, partner selection, and renegotiation
-
Work with legal and compliance on partner onboarding, due diligence, licence structures, and the regulatory perimeter in each market
-
Represent the company to the market: engage banks, PSPs, and financial institutions globally to win partner choice in competitive situations
Requirements:
-
6+ years in partnerships, network, or banking roles in payments or fintech, with direct experience originating and negotiating agreements with banks, PSPs, or payout partners
-
Strong understanding of emerging-market payment rails, including capacity constraints and the difference between the best partner on paper versus in production
-
Commercial and risk-literate: able to negotiate hard on pricing/terms while independently reading a partner’s licence, settlement model, and counterparty risk
-
Fluency in stablecoin settlement (or close to it), including on/off-ramps, custody, and what banks require to work with a stablecoin-native payments company
-
An operator mindset: driven by live transactions and integrations completed, not signed MOUs, with ownership through and beyond go-live
Nice-to-Haves:
-
Experience at a payment network or cross-border infrastructure company (e.g. Thunes, Nium, dLocal, TerraPay, Flutterwave, Wise Platform)
-
Direct knowledge of African payout networks and licensing landscapes
-
Existing relationships with banks or PSPs in the company’s target markets
