Product Engineer

About the Role

Our client builds infrastructure for cross-border stablecoin payments and treasury management. They’re a small team, and the systems they build move real money across multiple rails.

There’s a gap between “a customer told us what they need” and “the change is live and it’s good.” Today, founders and backend engineers fill that gap by context-switching. They want one person to own it.

This is a hands-on, high-agency role for someone who wants unusual surface area rather than a narrow lane.

How They Work

The team moves fast and keeps process to a minimum. People own their work end-to-end, collaborate directly with whoever they need to, and move things forward without waiting for permission or close supervision. Async by default — written communication does the work that meetings do elsewhere.

AI is core to how they build. The team provides a generous token budget because they expect people to use it seriously. Everyone is actively experimenting with new tools, tuning their workflows, and thinking about what’s possible today that wasn’t weeks or months ago. For this role in particular, AI leverage is what makes one person able to cover design, customer work, and shipping at once.

What You’ll Do

The job is roughly four equal parts.

Design and UI/UX — 25%
You’ll design and refine the screens — the practical kind: this flow is confusing, this state is missing, this balance is displayed in a way that makes a customer think they lost a dollar. You’ll decide what it should look like and how it should behave.

Customers — 25%
You’ll be the interface between the engineering team and customers. You’ll listen for what they’re actually asking for underneath what they said, and come back with requirements and suggestions. Users are finance and ops people at real businesses, so you’ll need to be someone they enjoy talking to and trust.

Guaranteeing Quality — 25%
You’ll be an active user of the product. You’ll know each flow and how it should work, spot bugs, gaps, and confusing UX, and proactively raise and fix them — shipping results as someone who can work in a React/TypeScript codebase, lean hard on AI tooling, and move fast.

Ops and Follow-Through — 25%
The back-and-forth: chasing what’s blocked, keeping the customer informed, confirming a shipped fix actually solved the problem, closing the loop with the team.

Running underneath all four: you’ll own product quality. You’ll be in the product every day, as a user, finding the bugs before customers do, and holding the bar for what “finished” means. If something looks wrong in the product, it’s yours.

Who They’re Looking For

  • 2–4 years of experience across some blend of product, design, solutions engineering, or frontend. The blend matters far more than the label on your last title.

  • You can ship code with Claude and Codex.

  • You have taste — you can look at a screen, say what’s wrong with it, and then fix it.

  • You’re good with customers. Comfortable on a call with a CFO or an ops lead, asking the second and third question instead of just taking notes.

  • You close loops without being asked. Small team, nobody chasing you.

  • Strong written communicator: requirements, bug reports, customer follow-ups.

  • You use AI tools well and can demonstrate real understanding of what you’ve built with them.

Nice to Have

  • A capital markets or asset management background. Experience around money market funds, treasury workflows, or institutional cash management portals — and knowing where those portals fall down and why — is the highest-signal thing on your résumé for this role. They’d rather hire someone who already knows that world than teach it.

  • Prior early-stage experience, or a clear reason to believe you’d like it.

  • Crypto or stablecoin exposure — genuinely optional. Most of their customers have none either, and they’d take capital markets depth over crypto fluency every time.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive base salary + meaningful early-stage equity.

  • Real ownership of the product surface customers actually touch.

  • Direct access to founders, and to institutional partners you’d normally never be in a room with.

  • Health, dental, and vision.

  • No grind culture.

  • Remote, US, async-first.
