Product Manager, Card
About the Company
Our client is an established cross-border payments platform, helping SMEs and consumers across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand collect, convert, hold, and send money across markets. They serve a large, established user base for both currency information and international money transfer.
They’re currently rebuilding the platform layer behind cross-border payments for corporate and consumer clients. The team is small enough that code ships fast and individual decisions matter, while being backed by a listed global payments group – so the problems they’re solving are real-scale, not toy problems.
About This Role
They’re hiring a Product Manager who owns a product end-to-end, from discovery and roadmap through delivery and the metrics it moves. This role is responsible for launching a card product, taking it from build through go-live and early adoption. You already use AI in how you think, plan, prototype, and ship, and you shape how the team does the same.
You’ll own the card product in production, define what gets built and when, and serve as the squad’s product co-lead with the Team Lead. Your squad owns a slice of the platform, from the customer experience through to the services and partner integrations behind it. You partner with engineering on delivery, align with adjacent squads on cross-cutting work, and bring compliance, design, and partner constraints into the roadmap.
What You’ll Do
-
Own the card end-to-end, from launch through to scale: set the strategy and roadmap and define what gets built across the card journey on mobile and web.
-
Lead the launch itself: program setup, processor and BIN sponsor onboarding, go-live, and early adoption.
-
Discover and validate: talk to customers and partners, analyse data, and prioritise based on customer impact and card economics.
-
Lead execution across engineering, design, compliance, and card partners, iterating on what ships when and tracking outcomes against metrics.
What They’re Looking For
Must-have
-
4 to 7 years of product management in fintech, payments, or financial infrastructure.
-
Track record owning product strategy and roadmap for a complex domain.
-
Card issuing (required): hands-on product experience launching, building, or scaling a product that issues cards to customers (debit, credit, or prepaid).
-
Strong customer and partner discovery skills, with experience validating problems and prioritising what to build.
-
Strong data and analytics skills: defining metrics, running experiments, and analysing outcomes.
-
Strong technical fluency: APIs, data flows, and system architecture basics, enough to partner with engineering on technical decisions.
-
Comfort working across compliance, legal, design, and partner teams to ship in a regulated environment.
-
Daily use of AI tools across product work (research, analysis, documentation, and prototyping), with a clear point of view on how a product org should adopt AI.
-
Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to translate technical and business decisions across audiences.
Nice-to-have
-
Track record owning fintech, payments, or money-movement product roadmaps at scale, with measurable impact on conversion, retention, or unit economics.
